Overview
If you’ve used a different application to record a video, you can still upload it to your Panopto My Folder. There are many benefits for doing this and once processed you will be able to edit the video, captions will be generated, you can set viewing permissions and people that you share the video with will have an improved viewer experience with access to the Panopto viewer functions and features.

What file types can I upload to Panopto?
Panopto supports most common video/audio file formats including:
- MP4
- MOV
- WEBM
- WMV
- WMA
- AVI
- MPEG2
- MP3

How to upload video files
- Go to panopto.falmouth.ac.uk
- Login with your university username and password
- Click My Folder in the left menu
- Click + Create (top left) and select Upload media from the dropdown menu
- Click into the Choose video or audio files area, select the video you want to upload from your computer and click Open
Note: You can select (or drag/drop) multiple video/audio files in the video upload window. Upload time will depend on video size and the number of files. - A bar will display to show upload progress.
- When upload is complete, a message will display to say that you can close the Window.
- Panopto will then process your video so it won’t be immediately available.
Processing involves transcoding your video for optimal playback on any desktop, laptop, smartphone, or tablet and generating captions for it.
Once processing is complete, you will be notified and can edit the video if you wish.
