What is the Learning Space?
The Learning Space is an online environment provided by Falmouth University for learning and teaching. It is primarily a place students can visit to access resources including lecture notes, workshop hand outs and videos. It also provides extra opportunities for student engagement via activities such as forums, quizzes and tutorial signups.
The Learning Space is maintained and supported by the Digital Learning (DL) team.
Logging into the Learning Space
Staff and students can log into the Learning Space by visiting learningspace.falmouth.ac.uk and clicking the 'Sign In' button. From here users will be taken to a Microsoft sign in screen and need to enter their Falmouth university email address and password when prompted. Using Chrome, Firefox or Safari will generally give the best user experience when accessing Learning Space.
Problems logging in
There are usually several reasons why a you can't access the Learning Space, the three most common reasons are detailed below:
1. I don't have a Falmouth university email address.
Only users with a Falmouth university accounts can access the Learning Space, for help with accounts please get in contact with IT Services at servicedesk@fxplus.ac.uk.
2. I don't remember my log in details.
If you have forgotten your email address, it may be helpful to remember that a student email address is in the format 'username@falmouth.ac.uk', whilst a staff account will be first and last name followed by @falmouth.ac.uk e.g. joe.bloggs@falmouth.ac.uk. If you know your email address but can't remember your password, you may wish to reset your password.
3. I recently updated my email address.
During your time at Falmouth university, your email address may be updated. This could be for a number of reasons including legal name changes, removing middle names from your current email, etc. If this happens you should inform the DL team using the contact details at the bottom of this guide as you won't be able to log in to Learning Space.

Logging out of the Learning Space
To log out once you have finished using the Learning Space, click the arrow next to your profile image (top right) and select Log out.
How to request new features
The DL team maintain an updated list of release notes which can be accessed in the footer of the Learning Space. From here you are able to see upcoming features, as well as features added in the most recent release. Releases are scheduled every 3 months to ensure that the software supporting Learning Space is up to date, and so new functionality can be added to benefit students and staff. If you have a great idea for a new feature or have spotted an issue, contact the DL team at dlsupport@falmouth.ac.uk.
Reporting problems with the Learning Space
As the Learning Space is an evolving platform, very occasionally users may encounter issues. As users could be accessing the Learning Space on a range of browsers across numerous devices sometimes information can be presented differently. If you find something that is preventing you from learning/teaching, students should first check with their module leader and then contact the DL team at dlsupport@falmouth.ac.uk.
