Introduction

If you have an individual Journal, you can customise specific elements of your site, for example the title, tagline, menus and the image.

Note iconNote: Customise options won’t be available if you're using a whole class site used by multiple people.

Access the Customise menu

Open your Journal site and click Customise in the top toolbar

This will open a toolbar on the left-hand side of the page and display various elements of your site that can be customised. The options available will depend on the theme that you are using, so will vary.

Note iconNote: The theme you're using will usually be locked down for the module so it is not something that you can change.

Customise elements of your site

Clicking on individual menu items will display the customisation options for each and is where you make your edits.

  1. Site identity - Allows you to edit the site name, add a tagline, add a logo and add a site icon.

  1. Colours – Select a colour scheme and header text colour.

Note iconNote: You can also check how your site will look on different devices by clicking the desktop, tablet and mobile icons at the bottom of the pane.

  1. Header media – Upload a header image or set a header video by entering a URL.

When you have finished editing in the customise menu, publish your changes to save them.
