What are the troubleshooting tips for a "mural is almost full" error message?
Each mural canvas can contain up to 16MB which in most cases provides ample storage. In situations where a mural contains a lot of drawings created with the Draw tool or large files such as jpegs or pdfs etc. a mural's canvas may reach its file size limit and display a "mural is almost full" error message at the top of the mural board.
Clicking on the ‘How to free up space’ button will open a modal with advice on how to reduce the file size of the mural. This advice asks users to consider deleting large files on the mural canvas, such as drawings or high resolution images, to free up space to make the mural usable again.
If you would like to keep the large images on the mural, you could consider resizing them to a lower resolution outside of the mural and then add them back to the canvas. Resizing could be done in an image editing tool such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Express Image Resizer. Before using any third-party resizing tools please consult their terms and conditions before proceeding.
Important: Falmouth University does not formally endorse Adobe Express Image Resizer, and it is up to the user to decide whether or not to accept the terms and conditions.
Can I use a screen reader and keyboard to interact with MURAL?
Yes. A screen reader and keyboard can be used to navigate a mural and read canvas objects or items contained within it. Objects include titles, text boxes, sticky notes, areas, groups, shapes, icons, files, drawings, comments, connector arrows, templates, and images. This capability is available for Voice Over Assistive Technology for Mac and NVDA or JAWS on a PC.
