Introduction to Panopto

Panopto is Falmouth University's dedicated video hosting platform. All Falmouth students can use Panopto to host and share videos within and external to the university and it can also be used to submit video and audio files for assessments.

View a Panopto video

Panopto provides a selection of functions and features including a search function, discussions, notes page, captions and downloadable transcripts that can be used to optimise the user experience when viewing a video.

Record a video

Panopto Capture allows you to record audio, video, application windows and entire screens in your browser instead of downloading the desktop application.

Upload a video

If you’ve used a different application to record your video, you can still upload it to your Panopto My Folder. The benefits of doing this are that once processed you can edit the video, captions will be generated, and you can set viewing permissions.

Edit a video

The Panopto editor allows you to trim the start and end of videos and edit out other parts within the timeline. Editing is also nondestructive so you can add content back in if you need to.

Submit a video assessment

These guides show you how to upload video files to Panopto, change sharing permissions to allow access to your tutors and how to then copy/paste the resulting video link into a Word document for submission.
